MOVING MEMORIES with Alicia Mullikin: Saturday, April 27 from 1:00 -2:00 pm
This is a family friendly all levels dance class that will combine journaling with movement as a way to remember and honor our loved ones. Participants will be gently guided through movement exploration and will have the opportunity to access the memories and emotions that are held in our bodies. We will allow those experiences to move us in community and move through us with authenticity. All you need is an open heart and willingness to explore movement.
EL SUEÑO Dance Film: Saturday, April 27 from 2:15 -3:15 pm
The movement class will be followed by an opportunity to view EL SUEÑO's contemporary dance film. The work offers a glimpse of the woven landscapes of pain and joy echoed in both ancient and contemporary experience that are central to the women who created this work. EL SUEÑO's Film offers an intimate glimpse of female archetypes-- mother, grandmother, queen, and warrior. These ancestors are reimagined as traits that are passed down through generations and challenges us to take ownership over the world we leave for our future ancestors.
