Volunteering at MoNA
Volunteers make an enormous impact at MoNA. Not only do they help to implement MoNA’s mission to bring Northwest art to our community, but they also make the museum a welcoming place for our visitors. The museum has many volunteer opportunities that are fun and interesting for everyone.
Museum Docents
If you are available to volunteer at the Museum on a regular basis, please consider joining our group of Museum Docents. Our Docents are a diverse and highly committed group of volunteers who are an important part of MoNA's education program. As gallery staff and tour leaders, they help foster appreciation and understanding of exhibitions and provide a friendly welcome for our visitors. Click below to learn more!
Exhibition Volunteers
The Collections and Exhibitions Department has a wide range of volunteer opportunities, from helping install and document exhibitions and the auction, to data entry, to remote projects like helping with our Copyright Permissions project.
Education Volunteers
The Education Department has a range of volunteer opportunities, from becoming a Tour Guide for our field trips, to assembling supplies for our art kits, to remote projects like helping with our art lesson archives.
Auction Volunteers
The Museum’s Art Auction is our largest annual fundraiser and it would not be possible without the support of many, many volunteers. The auction takes place in June each year and there are a wide range of ways to get involved including: helping with mailings, hanging artwork, packing art, decorating, helping serve food and drinks, and many more.
Internships
MoNA periodically offers internships in a variety of areas including exhibitions, collection management, education, marketing and development.
