Peter Millett: Built Forms

The Museum of Northwest Art is honored to present the momentous exhibition Peter Millett: Built Forms curated by Greg Bell. Built Forms is the first major institutional survey of Millett’s work, which spans decades of artistic practice and intentional engagement with forms in space. With its critical assessment of Millett’s work, the exhibition honors the artist’s vision and celebrates his place within the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest as one of the region’s masters.

Outside in Gallery: Creative Response to Trauma: A Community Response / Respuesta Creativa al Trauma: Un Enfoque Comunitario

This exhibition is a testament to the powerful process of healing from trauma through a range of creative expressions. Brigid Collins Family Support Center and Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services have partnered to share art and writing created by survivors of traumas including: physical, sexual, emotional abuse, domestic violence, and neglect. We hope this exhibition illuminates the impact of the unique experiences of individuals in our community. We aim to broaden our community’s understanding of the prevalence of traumas experienced by fellow adults, young people, and children. This exhibition invites you to bear witness to the non-linear journey of healing and the deep resilience of our community members.

At the Seam: The Museum of Northwest Art's Permanent Collection

At the Seam: The Museum of Northwest Art’s Permanent Collection is an ongoing engagement with the collection as the place of contact of the many artistic identities of the region. The exhibition asks to look not only at the individual works but also at the ‘seams,’ where works representing different artistic trends and cultural identities come in touch with each other. When they come in contact with each other, these works tell stories of coexistence, contrast, and difference within the social fabric of the Northwest region, past and present.
